Clocking up the kilometres in February, Eddie impressed on the way to sixth place overall at the Tour de La Provence, with a pair of top-10 finishes during the race. The Irishman carried that momentum into the UAE Tour where he climbed in elite company, taking 10th on the first ascent of Jebel Hafeet.

Tao wasted little time in kicking off his season, claiming third place at the Volta a la Valenciana. Despite not targeting the race, the young Brit's form was clear to see, with a third place finish on the steep Sierra de Bernia summit finish.

Tackling two stage races in February, the British champion was an assured and consistent performer. Not traditionally known for his climbing, Swift put in some great work in service of his teammates in the mountains, proving one of the strongest riders in both races. He took this form into the Classics Opening Weekend, demonstrating his versatility.
