Bernal to participate in Zwift ride

To thank fans for all their support over the last few months, Egan Bernal will be doing a ‘Ride with Egan’ fan Zwift ride this coming Saturday (2nd April) at 4pm BST / 5pm CEST / 10am Colombian. 

Since his training accident in January, the messages of support from around the world and his determination to get back racing has been driving the Tour de France champion in his recovery. Bernal is all in and focussed on his rehab journey and wants to be able to ride alongside fans virtually until he can see them back at races in person. 

Bernal, who recently got back on his bike on the roads near his home in Colombia, said: “This has been, and still is, the biggest challenge I’ve ever had to deal with in life, and to be able to be back on my bike already so soon after my accident is something that I have been dreaming about for the last few weeks. I can’t describe how happy it has made me. But not being at the races I miss the fans and the support and energy they all give me, that’s why I want as many as possible to come join me on Zwift this Saturday and for us to ride along together for an hour.” 

Bernal will be taking to his Tacx Neo 2T trainer for the ride. For showing their support, all Zwifters will get to ride in the team's Bioracer kit in the game, atop the Pinarello Dogma F.
