Richard Carapaz was able to remount and finish the stage following a crash on the slick final descent on day three of Etoile de Besseges.

The Ecuadorian slid out on damp roads heading into the final kilometres whilst riding in the front group. After picking himself up, the Grenadier received medical attention at the side of the road before finishing the stage.

Carapaz was assessed by the team's medical staff, receiving treatment for abrasions and contusions. He will continue to be monitored overnight ahead of stage four.

The stage was enlivened by an impressive breakaway performance from neo-pro Magnus Sheffield. The American bridged across to a group of six escapees, and was the final rider to be reeled in with 20km to go.

The team were also in action in Valencia, with Carlos Rodriguez continuing his impressive performance. The 21 year old finished second on the brutal slopes of the Antenas del Maigmó summit, which included a section of gravel road.

Rodriguez crossed the line 14 seconds back on winner Aleksandr Vlasov (Bora-Hansgrohe) to retain third overall. The Grenadier now sits 36 seconds off the lead, and just four off second placed Remco Evenepoel.

Pavel Sivakov moved up to ninth overall on the day, with Tao Geoghegan Hart now sitting in 13th.
