Rohan Dennis kicked off his season with second in the Australian national time trial championships, finishing 18 seconds behind Luke Durbridge, who defended his title in Ballarat.

The pair crossed the halfway mark in virtually identical times before Durbridge eked out his winning margin across the second lap of the 37.5km course.

Dennis, who debuted his new world champion skin suit and Pinarello BOLIDE, will next race at the Tour Down Under, starting in Adelaide on January 21st.

Fresh from following Dennis in the team car, Sport Director Brett Lancaster gave TeamINEOS.com a post-race debrief.

“Rohan’s put out better numbers than this time last year and of course he’s not peaking at the moment. Now he goes to Melbourne for some wind tunnel testing, then will go and join Dylan [van Baarle] and Pavel [Sivakov] on the Gold Coast for five days before they all head to Adelaide for the Tour Down Under.”
