Background

INEOS Grenadiers is the most successful Grand Tour cycling team in modern history having won seven Tours de France, two Vueltas a España and two Giro d’Italia. The Team became the INEOS Grenadiers in August 2020 having been Team INEOS for little over a year following a takeover of Tour Racing Limited by INEOS, having previously raced as Team Sky from 2011-2018.
 
INEOS Grenadiers forms a central part of a growing portfolio of INEOS-owned sporting properties that include Team INEOS UK sailing team, OGC Nice, FC Lausanne-Sport, Eliud Kipchoge’s 1:59 Challenge marathon attempt and a number of other sporting and engagement initiatives across the INEOS business. 
 
With a global following and a growing brand, the INEOS Grenadiers Partnerships and Marketing function requires additional support with the day-to-day management of marketing and experiential activities across partnerships, fans and INEOS initiatives.
ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Partnership Marketing Manager will be both an outwardly facing brand ambassador and a key internal resource who has their finger on the pulse in relation to all Team activity. They are a key custodian of the Partnership and Marketing team’s relationships with a broad range of stakeholders including partners, senior management, athletes and fans.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Partnerships

Our Partners are an intrinsic part of the Team, and being able to showcase them, and keep them embedded in everything we do is fundamental to the Team
  • Lead the successful delivery of Team portfolio rights, manage inventory and value-in-kind 
  • Relationship management across INEOS-owned businesses (INEOS Automotive, Belstaff, INEOS Hygienics)
  • Relationship management across the Team's partnership portfolio (Pinarello, Castelli, Shimano, KASK, Garmin, Most, Fizik, Wahoo, Oakley, SPT, Muc-Off, Continental, Elite, On Running)
Commercial

Make great things happen not just for the INEOS Grenadiers but for our partners and our fans by using the team’s energy to build on and create exceptional relationships
  • Lead relationships with commercial partners with a proactive focus on brand and commercially led activation 
  • Lead relationship with current ecommerce supplier to ensure optimal commercial model, product offering, and supporting activation is executed 
  • Support the growth of revenue from the clothing category, maximising the royalty structure from the commercial partnership structure.
Insight

Creative thinking, developing and delivering exciting new solutions and strategies led by data and experience
  • Lead on all external research projects maintaining credibility and consistency across INEOS and INEOS Sport
  • Define and implement fan panel research, and collation of actionable insights to inform strategic decision making in line with creating value framework
  • Key support for value reporting for owner reporting requirements
  • Define and implement with Head of Partnership Marketing a robust and regular partnership impact insight report to feed into reporting framework.
 
Events

Taking a strong lead to design, deliver and manage the key internal and engagement events programme for the team in line with the team’s style and approach – these are the pivotal non racing moments in the team’s year
  • Support the Head of Partnership Marketing with the delivery of all partner-related events and experiences (partner conferences and networking events)
  • Lead the planning and delivery of all team led brand events (annual award ceremony)
  • Lead the planning and delivery of all key stakeholder experiences (race hospitality, bespoke experiences, ride-outs)
  • Planning and delivery of all VIP programs including gifting and experiences.

Skills and attributes

With a minimum of two years’ experience, the Partnership Marketing Manager should be an ambitious and motivated individual with a good understanding of, and passion for sports marketing and sponsorship. They will be willing to learn and be expected to relish challenging situations.  
 
The Partnership Marketing Manager will be required to build relationships quickly with a broad range of stakeholders including partners, senior management, athletes and fans.

Essential:
  • Minimum two years’ experience in partners, marketing or events management
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Proactive nature
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong desire to work in the sports industry
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work across a number of projects
  • Highly adaptable and able to work with a variety of people at different levels
  • Willing to relocate to the North West, UK
  • Willingness to travel internationally 
  • Full driving licence
  • Right to work in UK
 
Desired:
  • Knowledge of sports/athlete commercial operations
  • Experience/interest in cycling
