Dani Martinez was able to cash in on some strong form as he claimed victory at Coppa Sabatini.

The Colombian backed up a strong third place 24 hours earlier with another aggressive ride, which saw him time his sprint to perfection in Peccioli.

Part of a select lead group heading into the finale, the Grenadier launched a move with 13km to go, stretching the group as they took the bell. One lap later he pushed hard to seize the inside line to the final corner, before out-sprinting nearest rivals Odd Christian Eiking (EF Easypost) and Guillaume Martin (Cofidis).

Egan Bernal has enjoyed another 48 hours of racing in Tuscany and finished the race in 28th as part of a chasing group.
Reaction

- Dani Martinez

"Today was a really hard day - with the rain at the beginning and the parcours, up and down, it was really tough. With 100km to go the teams started to attack. The whole team did a really good job today. They were pulling and creating small gaps.

"In the final I tried to do the maximum. Yesterday in the final I had cramps but today it was much better.

"When I saw Vlasov attack it was very dangerous for us. I waited and gave it everything on the final climb. At the end there were four or five riders for the sprint. I felt in good shape and it’s a great result. I’ve lived not far from here for three years and I know the roads really well. It’s a good victory for my family and all my friends in Tuscany."
