Team Sky head to Milan-San Remo with a strong lineup with Michal Kwiatkowski aiming to seal his second successive title in the first Monument of the season.
Kwiatkowski sealed Team Sky’s first-ever win at La Primavera in 2017, edging Pater Sagan and Julian Alaphilippe in a thrilling three-up sprint finale which saw the Plish rider prevail by mere centimetres.
This year ‘Kwiato’ will take to the start line in confident mood after beginning the week with his first WorldTour stage race victory for Team Sky at Tirreno-Adriatico but knows that form alone is often not enough to succeed on the iconic 291km course.
He said: “I think Tirreno-Adriatico is the best preparation for this race, I am always motivated to ride well in Milan-San Remo and I know how lucky you need to be in the end to be victorious.
“With a Milan-San Remo win under my belt the pressure will be less as I don’t have to prove anything. I just need to feel good, ride a good race and we know with San Remo that you also need to be lucky too.
“I have worked hard to be in good condition for Strade Bianche, Tirreno and let’s hope at Milan-San Remo too."

Team Sky's lineup for Milan-San Remo
Kwiatkowski will be supported by a team which boasts a wealth of Classics experience, with five of his teammates having shared in his success in this race last year.
Gianni Moscon, who recorded a podium finish in his last Monument outing, and Salvatore Puccio two home favourites that will provide support on key climbs across the lengthy course. In-form Lukasz WIsniowski is fresh from his strong showing at opening weekend where he finished second at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad and recorded a top 10 finish at Kuurne-Brussels-Kuurne.
Dylan van Baarle was a key support rider at Paris-Nice, which saw Team Sky record two stage victories, while British duo Ian Stannard and Luke Rowe’s in-depth knowledge of this race will be invaluable.
