Tom Pidcock sprinted to fifth place at the Tour de Suisse as the Grenadiers continued to ride hard.

Led out by Geraint Thomas, the Brit took fifth, 24 hours after taking fourth in a similar reduced bunch finish.

Thomas looked strong again and his 11th place finish helped ensure he moved up to third place overall, seven seconds off the overall lead, courtesy of stage placings.

The team hit the front late on as Luke Rowe drove into the final 20km and a climb that saw a lot of sprinters distanced. Leader Stevie Williams (Bahrain Victorious) was briefly distanced but was able to regain contact at the finish to maintain yellow.

Daryl Impey (Israel - Premier Tech) took the win in Grenchen, with the second half of the race now set to lean more towards the GC riders.
