A gutsy climbing performance from Luke Plapp Plapp saw him finish third on the Gaustatoppen climb, which sees him move up to third overall at Tour of Norway

The Australian national champion was part of a three-rider group that escaped on the 12km final climb, with Remco Evenepoel (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) attacking and distancing his rivals to win the stage.

Undeterred by the gap, Plapp continued to push and was able to limit his losses on the climb, finishing third,  behind Evenepoel and second-placed Jay Vine (Alpecin-Fenix).

Plapp was followed in by Magus Sheffield (ninth) and Tao Geoghegan Hart (10th) to make it three Grenadiers in the top 10, with the pair also moving up on GC with three stages remaining.
