Team Sky were back in action at the Melbourne Race criterium as Lukasz Wisniowski sprinted to eighth place.
The action took place on the famous Albert Park Formula 1 circuit, with the riders tackling 22 laps of the 5.3-kilometre course.
Wisniowski put in a strong final effort to sprint after Chris Lawless was forced to pull up after dropping a chain in the bunch kick. Lawless had been on the wheel of Caleb Ewan (Mitchelton-Scott) coming out of the final corner.
In the end it was Sam Bennett (Bora-Hansgrohe) who prevailed in the sprint, claiming victory in the showpiece criterium for a second year in a row.

Owain Doull forced his way into the day's seven-man break. The riders worked together well and were only reeled in on the final circuit.
