Carlos Rodriguez put in a strong ride on the first full day of the team's road season in Valencia.

The Spaniard finished third on a tough uphill opening stage, finishing 31 seconds back on victor Remco Evenepoel as the race split apart on the final climb.

Pavel Sivakov was also present in a select lead group prior to the final attacks, with the Russian finishing 12th in a chase group.

Filippo Ganna rode to a top-10 finish on the opening day of Etoile de Besseges as the Grenadiers impressed in the crosswinds.
Heading into the final 65 kilometres the peloton split, with Ganna, Richard Carapaz and debutant Kim Heiduk amongst the riders to make the select lead group.
Leading into the finish in Bellegarde it was Ganna who followed the accelerations well on the way to seventh place. Carapaz slipped back in the final metres but still came home 12th ahead of the chasing peloton.
