Giro d'Italia - Stage 6 » Palmi › Scalea, 192km Tour de Hongrie - Stage 2 » Karcag › Hajdúszoboszló, 192km

Stage six produced a comfortable day on the bike for the peloton, with the INEOS Grenadiers able to conserve energy ahead of tougher stages to come.

A sprint finish was ensured from the outset, and the bunch kick allowed Richard Carapaz and Richie Porte to hold station on the general classification, in 11th and ninth respectively.

The race heads into hillier territory on Friday, with a deceptively tough stage that should provide a much sterner test.

Thursday also saw day two in Hungary, with another chance for the sprinters. Elia Viviani was piloted into the mix by Ben Turner in the final kilometre, and despite the duo avoiding a mass pile-up, Viviani's chain came off, denying him the opportunity to contest the sprint.

The Italian picked up three bonus seconds in the latter part of the stage, so remains well positioned on the GC.
