Sivakov second at Sabatini

Pavel Sivakov continued his impressive form this week with a second place finish in Coppa Sabatini.

The Grenadiers were looking to make the race active from the gun, with Ethan Hayter and Brandon Rivera both off the front at stages.

As TV coverage began, the race exploded, with Pavel making an elite front split of 10 riders.

Not content with sitting back in the group, the Frenchman launched a ferocious attack over the last ascent of the 'Muro di Peccioli', to distance all but one of his breakaway companions - Marc Hirschi (UAE Team Emirates)

Sivakov and Hirschi grew their advantage throughout the final 30 kilometres, and the race was to be decided on the final climb of the day.

Despite setting a furious pace, the Grenadier was unable to drop Hirschi, who would edge Pavel out in the sprint to the line.
