Ben Swift bounced back from an early crash to finish stage four of the Giro d’Italia as Arnaud Demare (Groupama- - FDJ) won a reduced bunch sprint.

Swift had battled back into the peloton from an earlier crash, and was able to recover during the stage, finishing in a chase group behind the main bunch.

Salvatore Puccio was the first Grenadier across the line as the stage came down to a blustery sprint on the waterfront of Villafranca Tirrena, which was won by Demare in a photo finish.

Ben Swift

"Not the best of days. I had a crash with an awkward landing gave me a lot of pain through the stage. I managed to get through best I could. Hopefully I will recover quickly and look for some opportunities in the upcoming stages."
