Tour de France - Stage 12 » Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux › Nîmes, 159.4km

The INEOS Grenadiers were alert to the prospect of crosswinds on stage 12 on a day they had hoped to enliven the race at the Tour de France.
Despite the threat of splits the peloton remained together to the finish in Nimes, on a day that saw the breakaway prevail.
With largely tailwind conditions on the run-in the Grenadiers came to the front at various points to position themselves in key moments, in case the conditions did afford a chance to split the race up.
In the end the peloton rode calmly to the finish, coming home 16 minutes back on solo breakaway winner Nils Politt. 

With no one in the breakaway a threat to GC, the top positions went unchanged, with Richard Carapaz remaining fourth overall, 5:33 off yellow and still just a second off the podium.
