Ben Turner sprinted to fifth place in Sinj on the opening stage of CRO Race after a fast 162km.

Artem Shmidt took to the front with just over 40km to go, and put out a monster effort to lead into the final stages of the race.

The Grenadier train saw Kim Heiduk, Magnus Sheffield and Connor Swift lead the charge, before handing over to Michal Kwiatkowski.

Kwiato navigated the bunch well, guiding Turner through in a twitchy finale, with Turner launching his sprint and taking fifth place.

The British rider now sits eighth on the general classification, with tomorrow’s punchy stage still to come.
