A frantic finish on the third stage of the Tour de France saw the Grenadiers make it home safely after a crash marred day.
The pace ramped up in the closing stages after a very slow burn of a day, with a battle in the intermediate sprint seeing Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin - Deceuninck) crash hard and forced to abandon.
A late crash involving Connor Swift on the run into Dunkirk saw him luckily come away unscathed. Geraint Thomas and Thymen Arensman were just caught behind, with the three rolling to the finish without losing time due to the safety zone inside the final 5km.
While more crashes followed on the sprint to the line, Tim Merlier (Soudal - Quick Step) pinched the win ahead of Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek), and Sam Watson managed to make it safely through to the finish in 25th place.
