Michal Kwiatkowski put in a strong performance on stage four of the CRO Race to finish third and move up to the same position overall.
The Pole was active as the peloton split apart on the brutal ramps of the Skitaca climb, following the initial acceleration from stage winner Brandon McNulty (UAE Emirates - XRG).
Kwiatkowski would eventually drop back into a larger chasing group, which also included teammate Magnus Sheffield. Kwiato pushed on as part of a trio with 4km to go and the move would hold on to the line in Labin, 1:40 back on new race leader McNulty.
Sheffield launched a late dig himself on the uphill finish to come home fifth, with the Grenadiers duo occupying the same positions overall heading into the final weekend.
The team worked hard to set up the move on the climb, with Connor Swift hitting the front to help string out the bunch on the approach.
