The INEOS Grenadiers made their way through a lengthy sprint test on stage three at the Tour de France.
Positioned between a tough opening weekend and Tuesday’s trip into the Alps, the stage saw no breakaway or significant action for the majority of the 230.8-kilometre course.
The day ended in a bunch kick into Turin, with Biniam Girmay (Intermarche-Wanty) taking an impressive victory.
The Grenadiers were able to avoid a late crash in the final kilometres, crossing the line without time loss ahead of some tougher terrain to come.
Despite the relatively slow pace, positioning was still key and the team worked well to avoid major trouble on the run-in. Egan Bernal remains in the top-10 overall in eighth, with Carlos Rodriguez on the same time (21 seconds back) in 11th. Tom Pidcock also sits in the same group after the opening trio of stages.
