A crash marred finish saw Carlos Rodriguez unfortunately leave the Tour de France on stage 17.

Rodriguez looked in a solid position coming into the final sprint, but a crash in the last kilometre saw a reduced peloton battle it out for the win, with Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) taking the victory.

The rest of the Grenadiers managed to cross the line safely in the wet conditions with four stages remaining.

Rodriguez will regrettably not take the start of stage 18 following his crash and hospital scans have confirmed a fracture of the pelvis. Rodriguez is in good spirits and remains under the close supervision of our medical team. He will now return home to focus on recovery and the rehabilitation process.
