Carlos Rodriguez brought the Grenadiers home on the 12th stage in the mountains at the Tour de France.
Rodriguez finished 22nd on the summit finish in Hautacam to retain his 12th position on the GC.
A promising start saw Tobias Foss, Connor Swift, Axel Laurance, Thymen Arensman and Rodriguez in a big break early on in the stage. Big pushes on the front from Swift and Foss put the Grenadiers in a good position before tackling the category one climb, Col du Soulor.
Laurance and Arensman continued to put the pressure on up the climb, before a number of attacks saw Arensman and Rodriguez distanced.
Tadej Pogacar (UAE Emirates - XRG) eventually took the stage win and currently leads the GC going into tomorrow’s mountain time trial.
