Watson fires to sprint finish at Tour

Sam Watson sprinted to 15th place on the eighth stage of the Tour de France.

Another rapid day at the Tour saw the riders tackle a flat 171km, with the Grenadiers delivering Watson to the bunch sprint in Laval.

A technical last five kilometres saw a frantic finish, with Jonathan Milan (Lidl-Trek) taking the win, and Watson firing to 15th in the bunch.

Carlos Rodriguez stayed out of trouble and safely made it to Laval to maintain his GC position in 15th place.
