INEOS is a global chemical company, whose products touch every aspect of modern-day life. In 2019 INEOS became the sole owners of Tour Racing Limited (the Team’s holding company), signifying a fresh start for the team following the conclusion of Team Sky’s decade-long ownership by Sky and 21st Century Fox. The team takeover was officially launched in May 2019 at a team press conference, held at The Fountaine Inn in Linton, West Yorkshire.
The INEOS Grenadiers pro cycling team - Britain’s only UCI WorldTour team – is a key member of the INEOS sport group, which includes football clubs Manchester United, OGC Nice and FC Lausanne-Sport, the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 team, the British challenger for the America’s Cup INEOS Britannia, the All Blacks and New Zealand’s Teams in Black and Eliud Kipchoge and the NN Running Team. INEOS brings together some of the best minds and talent in sport to tackle sports greatest challenges. Under Sir Dave Brailsford, the teams are working together to unlock performance gains to support their ambitions on the road, the pitch, the track and the water, helping extraordinary athletes achieve extraordinary things.
INEOS believes that being physically active is essential to health and wellbeing. Throughout its history it has supported youth sports groups. More recently, investing significant amounts in grassroots community projects to professional sport.
INEOS has always taken a strong interest in youth sports and supports children’s running charities, including The Daily Mile and GO Run For Fun, which encourage millions of children to become active through running. Supported by INEOS and enabled by school teachers around the world, the #DailyMile encourages children to be active every day. In March 2024, The Daily Mile celebrated an amazing milestone - over 5 million children from over 20,000 schools across 96 countries are now registered to participate in the Daily Mile.
INEOS has a thirst for a challenge and a belief that No Human Is Limited. Bringing together some of the greatest minds and talent in sport allows us to take on great sporting challenges, enabling extraordinary athletes to achieve extraordinary things. In 2019 INEOS decided to take on one of the last remaining barriers in modern athletics, breaking the two-hour barrier in the marathon. Bringing together top talent from across the INEOS sporting family and driven by grit, determination and rigour, the INEOS 1:59 Challenge supported Eliud Kipchoge to break the two-hour barrier in a time of 1:59.40.2.
