Biography

One of the world’s elite climbers, the 2019 Giro d’Italia winner joins Team INEOS for 2020 and further strengthens the team’s Grand Tour credentials. The Ecuadorian followed up his fourth place in 2018 with a rousing victory last season, taking two stage wins and the first pink jersey for his country. Entering just his fourth full season as a professional, there is plenty of scope for Carapaz to continue his development with his new team and coaches. One thing is for certain – few riders are as at home in the high mountains.
